Hello, hello!

Annie Wang is a Chinese-American artist-scholar working at the nexus of the arts, education, and technology. Born in Beijing and currently based in New York, she has also lived, learned, and worked in Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, and London. As a dramaturg and writer, her pedagogy revolves around the investigation of race, gender, and citizenship in storytelling. As a photographer and designer, she seeks to create work that is joyful and cinematic.

Annie is an MFA candidate in Theatre with a concentration in Dramaturgy at Columbia University School of the Arts. Her theatrical foci are new play development—particularly for emerging and marginalized voices, Shakespeare, and critical writing. She received her BAs in Art History and Cinema & Media Studies from Wellesley College, earning honors in the latter with her senior thesis, "21st Century Orientals: The Displacement of Eastern Identities in Contemporary Hollywood Adaptation".

Annie is a proud company member of Ferocious Lotus Theatre Company, alumna of the Wellesley College Shakespeare Society (Sonnet XXIII), staff writer at The Female Gaze, and content writer/career development consultant at Udacity.
